LA Fabric District Haul

I like the imperfections in the leather pieces below.

Wooh! We went to the Fabric District over last weekend and I must say I pulled together a great haul. My second semester classes include a Shoe Making Class and Intermediate Sewing so I needed to gather some materials for my first few projects. Some of the scrap leather is for some moccasins and some fabric is going towards a collared shirt. You may have seen a preview of the collared shirt I'm making on my Instagram. First off we went to Sav-Mor Leather, a hole in the wall leather and supply business on a creepy street under a bridge. At first I thought the store was closed and we were extremely hesitant to walk into the place but I mustered up the courage to open the door and walk through a room full of boxes of leather and into the back where it was leather heaven. Damn, I must say I was extremely overwhelmed because I have never bought leather before and I had no clue what kind of leather I needed for my class. But after watching a few people rummage through massive scrap boxes, I dug right in and started pulling things out that I thought were neat finds. Also, I had no idea how they priced their items. There were signs on the wall that stated "Our prices depend on how you treat the Leather." Now ,WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN?! Haha well it really didn't matter because wow my scraps were sooooo CHEAP! See that pile of leather I bought? It was all $6.15! Now that is some good stuff. I expected all of it to at least be twenty dollars. Well I was pleasantly surprised. :) Then we wandered through the fabric district and I bought those cute laces and powder blue chiffon from the Michael Levine Loft. But yes, a very successful day. I cannot wait to go back for more materials, hopefully someday soon.

KOGI TRUCK!

On the Left: Chicken/ Right: Beef
Nomming up on AMAZING Korean Tacos.
The first time I ate from the Kogi truck I was at a Fashion Show put on by College Students. It was a big event with Hair Stylists from Toni and Guy and fashion agencies scouting out models. My friend and I snuck into the VIP lounge and they served cute and delicious Hors d'oeuvres. Outside they were serving unlimited Kogi Tacos for free until 4. SOOO AWESOME! These tacos are savory and tangy with the fresh taste of Korean flavors all piled onto a tortilla in a little paper boat. Wondering around our town in Orange County on a typical Friday night, I spotted the Kogi Truck and had my friends chase it down so that we could grab a bight. It was so great tasting these tacos again. I highly recommend that you go hunt them down one day to have a bight.

My friend and I were both wearing our Doc Martens. :)

Grey, Black, Silver, and White

The other day I decided to weed out clothes out of my closet that I don't touch anymore and I came upon these old black zipper jeans that I haven't seen since sophomore year of high school. So I'm happy to bring back these pants into my wardrobe but I still have lots of clothes that I am going to start selling online. But anyway, keeping it simple with simple colors in this outfit.

Date Night

Hehe Keith looks like a biker in the top picture.

After dinner, we wondered into an
entirely pink Japanese dollar store called Daiso.
Wooh Noms!

A few weeks ago Keith and I had Date Night! His parents gave us a gift card for a date at the Elephant Bar during the holidays. And of course we had a super time.~ I got that awesome gold flapper dress and black velvet clutch at a thrift store recently on an adventure with some pals. I think we all scored some pretty chill buys. Also, I made the chain bracelet with the shell buttons and the wooden triangular necklace.
Thank you for the beautiful orchids and the amazing date Keith. Successful date night!
